Willie Garson dead: ‘Sex and the City’ actor dies at 57

Willie Garson, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s friend Stanford Blatch on TV sex and the City And its film sequel is dead, his son announced Tuesday. He was 57 years old.

He created one of the most beloved characters in the HBO pantheon and was a member of our family for nearly 25 years, HBO Facebook said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Born William Garson Paszamant in Highland Park, New Jersey, Garson began studying acting at the age of 13 at the Actors Institute in New York. He made hundreds of appearances on TV and in movies.
