Sir Alex Ferguson appeared in conversation with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov criticizing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to start Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench for Manchester United’s draw with Everton.
Ronaldo was surprisingly named as a substitute for last Saturday’s Old Trafford clash and when Solskjaer pulled him off the bench after 57 minutes, the Red Devils were put in a stalemate by Rafa Benitez’s toffee.
Norwegian boss Solskjaer has been criticized for not starting Ronaldo, who has scored five goals in six matches since returning to Old Trafford earlier this year, and former United boss coach Ferguson has also condemned the tactical decision. .

In a video posted on retired MMA star Khabib’s Instagram, Sir Alex was seen talking to Russia after the Old Trafford match and when the topic of the game came up, Scott said: ‘But I also think that when They (Everton) saw that Ronaldo was not playing, it was a little…’
Khabib replied: ‘He came in the second half…’ – but Ferguson dismissed that claim.
The great Manchester United manager replied: ‘I know, but you should always start with your best players.’
After the final whistle at Old Trafford, Ronaldo was seen walking down the tunnel in desperation, while Solskjaer defended his call to leave the Portuguese sensation on the bench.

“You make decisions during a long, long season and you have to manage the workload of the players. The decision, for me, was the right one today,’ Solskjaer said in his post-match press conference.
‘Anthony Marshall did well and scored a good goal. Edison (Cavani) needed minutes and got an hour. Sometimes we have to make those decisions.
‘With the results today, I understand they left disappointed. We have started better than last season but it is still not what we wanted.
Khabib, meanwhile, was a guest at Old Trafford for United’s clash against Everton as he continued his life away from the Octagon following his retirement from the sport last year.

The 33-year-old revealed that he turned down the opportunity to have a glass of wine with legendary coach Ferguson – Khabib a devout Muslim and therefore T-total – before mocking a drink as he ‘smash’ them to former United boss, Usain could. Bolt and Patrice Evra – who also appeared for Saturday’s game.
‘I had to explain to him’ [Ferguson],’ Khabib said, as quoted by rt. ‘There are two things: you can be straight’ [with him] And say “No, no, no – I’m Muslim, I never drink.”
‘But I also told him, “It’s no good because if I drink, I can crush all of you guys. It’s not a good idea.”
Patrice Evra and Usain Bolt understand. Alex Ferguson asked me about alcohol. For her, that’s good – I don’t judge her.

‘[Ferguson] understands because he doesn’t think I should crush everybody, so he said, “Okay, don’t drink.”
Khabib later posted a photo of himself and Ferguson on Instagram, with the caption: ‘It was a great honor to talk to a legend.’
The former MMA fighter is a fan of Real Madrid but his friendship with Ronaldo brought him to Old Trafford.
He was pictured holding a combined shirt with ‘Khabib – 7’ on his back. His friendship with the Portugal star dates back to Ronaldo’s days in Madrid.

After confirming Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford after 12 years, Khabib revealed he knew about the move a month ago.
“A month ago he told me he was going to Manchester United,” Nurmagomedov told reporters at the New Knowledge Marathon in Moscow.
‘I was hopeful that the deal would be done. I think Manchester United is a better fit for him than Juventus. For me, the transition was no surprise.’
