Rapper youngboy Never Broke Again revealed during a recent interview that a collaboration with Drake is “in the works”.
The artist, who is awaiting trial for gun and drug charges, shared the news on streaming platform Stationhead last week.
“Me and Drake were really talking ‘combat ‘Top,’ going ahead and sealing the deal with me and him,” he said, referencing his 2020 album.
“That’s the whole collaboration we’re working on, as we speak,” he continued. “Yeah, it’s in the works.”
The news comes fresh from the back of Youngboy’s latest album, ‘Sincerely, Central’, out September 24. The record is battling for the number one spot on the Billboard 200, ahead of Drake’s recent release ‘Certified Lover Boy’. .
Youngboy was initially arrested on drug and firearms charges in September 2020. According to the new York Times, the rapper was one of 16 who were arrested after police and the FBI received an anonymous tip about people holding guns in a vacant lot. He later announced that he had seized 14 guns, $79,000 (£61,184) in cash and drugs from the Baton Rouge location in Louisiana.
According to rap Up, he was arrested in Los Angeles in March this year on drug and weapons charges on an outstanding warrant. He pleaded not guilty to possessing a firearm and possessing an unregistered firearm, and is currently awaiting trial in an L.A. prison.
